| Personal Bio/ Summary | Graeme Thom has served as a fire officer for more than 40 years. He is an international speaker and mentors high profile people in the fire industry and was recognized for his leadership in the Queensland fire service in the Australian honors being awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM). Along with many other honours and awards he has also received the Australian Centenary Medal for his contribution to the Australian community in its Bi-Centennial year. He is now the CEO and founder of GT & Associates and the Exec/Director of the International Emergency Services Speakers Bureau and a Keynote speaker. As a firefighter he has been burnt, had ceilings fall down around him, fallen into gullies and dropped through burnt out floors. He has been spat at, shot at, abused, accused of corruption, praised and thanked but not all at the same time. He led the QFES fire service convoy taking fire service troops to help fight the fires in NSW and has been the fire commander at numerous bushfire and building fires in Queensland. He led the ongoing fire safety project into the Childers Palace backpacker’s Hostel fire where 15 young backpackers tragically lost their lives.
