BACKGROUND

I have always been an entrepreneur.  Even at University, I was selling my course notes to other students as I could do shorthand and type fast.  The very first business I sort of fell into.  I was just so good at what I was doing that people kept telling me I should start my own business… so I did.  I did a NEIS program back in 1999 and kicked off one of my first businesses Debt Resolution Services.  I found a point of difference and went for it…

No matter how smart you are and knowledgeable, sometimes you can get into financial difficulty through no fault of your own.  When others control your financial future, you must be prepared that your financial future is like a house built on sand, eventually, you could sink.

For eleven years I was a debt mediator with my own business, employing up to 12 staff and creating solutions for people outside the parameters currently set.  Unfortunately, a series of events, such as clients not paying (hmmm it happens when dealing with people in debt); staff issues (one person was embezzling from my company and two others attempted a takeover); office relocations; legislation changes eventually took a toll where I closed my company.

A career change led me into buying into an RTO, where my official title was National BDM.  Working with business owners, WHS Managers, and HR Managers I was coordinating and facilitated the training for large and small organizations.

I have an extensive background in business and have worked with clients in all industry sectors.  My qualifications include:

MY WHY

Now I am someone who knows how the system works, I know about money and debt; I have had magazine articles in Readers Digest, and other magazines; spoken at Parliament house to the community groups and with government ministers; been a guest speaker at Child Support Events; Radio; and many community groups.  Yet I got into trouble because I did not have the right things to protect my business.  Businesses can be attacked through non-compliance with government legislation; clients; suppliers; staff and even members of the public can attack your business unless you put a tight wall of protection around your business.

WHY DO BUSINESSES FAIL WITHIN THE FIRST 3-5 YEARS?

Because they can’t afford the expert help and assistance that they need in all areas of business, so they try and wing it themselves, and then that often leads to a crash and burn.

I started The Answer is Yes because business owners were struggling through the minefield of compliance and training of staff while aiming to keep expenses down. Every newly identified need for the business meant finding a new supplier or trainer that could assist them… I figured… why not have it all in one location?

That is why The Answer is Yes was founded, to become a site that provides all the training needs for a business owner and their staff. Many business owners are paying expensive consulting fees or hiring specialist staff to fill a need in a business. Why pay consulting fees for information and training that we tell everyone? So, if we find ourselves repeating or saying the same thing, we decided that should be an online training course. Businesses then have a choice as to whether they want to pay consulting fees or do our online training courses. Doing the online training courses and then coming to us for consultation on what is not covered in our courses is a cost-effective solution for business owners.
